VDL digital equipments manufacturer tested its equipments Compatibility with Harris Transmitter in the Context of Future Joint International Deployments.
VDL First Independent French Network Operator selects Harris Corporation Transmitters, an international communications and information technology company, to support the imminent rollout of digital radio in the cities of Nice, Marseille and Paris.
The success of compatibility between VDL equipments and Harris Transmitters supports future joint international deployments of both technologies.
VDL will use its broadcast equipments and Harris transmitters to broadcast numerous digital radio programs in France.
Yannick Andre-Masse, CEO of VDL comments;
“The rollout of digital radio is a major event in France this year, with the turn-on planned to commence in the next few months”...
“We worked closely with Harris to ensure that we can provide our customers with the best possible infrastructure to answer the complex market requirements of digital radio. “
Delighted, Alain Pecot, regional director of southern Europe for Harris Broadcast Communications say; “This is the first sale of our line of DAB/DMB transmitters in France, and we are pleased to have been chosen to support VDL during such a challenging and exciting time for digital radio in the country”
VDL performs experimentations with Harris transmitters at its facilities in France to ensure the compatibility of VDL’s line of head-end equipment and the Harris transmitters in the context of VDL’s international activities as a DAB/DMB equipment manufacturer.
“The results of this testing show that global broadcasters in the European and Asia-Pacific regions who are planning to purchase equipment for DAB, DAB+ and DMB can feel comfortable choosing a solution that combines VDL head-end equipment and Harris transmitters and because they can be assured that both lines of products work together and are compliant with these standards,” added Pecot.
“Above and beyond our activity as a French network operator, VDL offers a wide range of solutions such as head-end multiplexing equipment, so the compatibility of these products with the Harris transmitters was a key factor in our decision to choose Harris for this important project,» concluded Yannick Andre-Masse.
