EPG Manager
The scalable EPG-Manager software validates, manages, stores and outputs the data in DAB EPG format to a VDL D-VAUDAX Ensemble Multiplexer’s NPAD Inserter.
Content Sources
Data content can be imported in a number of formats. For other formats, please contact VDL.
- DAB EPG XML format
- Microsoft Excel format
- EPG-Manager Guide XML format
Operation
The Import Manager can be configured to automatically ingest schedule listings from a radio station’s own EPG management system.
The Schedule Editor allows manually adding programmes to a services’ schedule, using the EPG-Manager Guide client application.
The Output Manager enables the schedules to be published to a VDL D-VAUDAX Ensemble Multiplexer.
Scheduling
The Guide software validates any incoming content to ensure that it is fully compliant EPG data. Once the content is imported, it is stored centrally on the Guide server.
The software supports a number of schedule formats, networked schedules (schedules that can be used by multiple services) and weekly schedules.
If the radio station’s schedule data changes infrequently, the schedule data can be uploaded once, and the Guide software will repeat it on a weekly basis, until the schedule data is changed.
EPG Viewer
The optional EPG Viewer decodes and displays the content of binary encoded XML files. These files can be located on EPG-Manager, or files that have been extracted by a monitoring product, such as VDL DABSTOR, DABSTOR-RX, or DABAIR-II Plus.
The EPG Viewer includes controls for time-scrolling, zooming-(in and out) and text size (increase or decrease). A vertical red line indicates the current time.
