With more and more broadcasters showing interest in the Eureka 147 family of standards (DAB, DAB+, DMB) as the most versatile and effective multimedia platform for digital radio terrestrial broadcasting, attention is often focussed on running trials. These trials can typically run for 6 or 12-months and broadcasters are, naturally, very interested in both the cost and ease of operation.
VDL (Lyon, France) has introduced a new ETI (Ensemble Transport Interface) monitoring product in its DABSTOR product range. Designed for DAB, DAB+ and DMB applications, the new DABSTOR-E monitors the ETI data stream at the multiplexing centre, or at transmitter sites.
In preparation for securing Poland’s digital radio future, EmiTel, the Polish network operator, has been running a trial of DAB+ audio and DMB mobile video services in the Polish capital city, Warsaw, since November 2009.
